Welcome to Deborah Animasaun Memorial Group of schools.

At a point, it was discovered that the fate of children in Badeku (spiritually and academically) was at stake, because religion that has beclouded the mind of the old ones has started possessing their hearts and also because the public schools in the village (both primary and secondary) were not positively preparing the pupils for their future.

In 1997, there came a strong burden upon Evangelist Mrs. Deborah Animasawun (of blessed memory) to save the future of these children by providing them with a better education and that gave birth to WORLDHOPE NURSERY AND PRIMARY SCHOOL. In order to attract pupils and more importantly because the school was established to give the children sound intellectual upbringing in the fear of God. The school started charging no fee at all. This became an additional load for the leadership of the ministry to bear. Teachers’ salaries, stationaries and other materials had to be sought for from friends, partners and organizations. Parents trooped in to enroll their children in the school. In fact some children pressurized their parents to register them in Worldhope Nusery/Primary school when they saw their peers speaking English and also noted other differences in them.

The school operated basically this way for some years before school fees was introduced so as to make the parents take up their responsibilities and more importantly when sufficient funds was not coming from partners to meet the increasing needs of the school. Up till now, many parents find it very difficult to pay the meager school fees. The ministry is still augmenting the running of the school financially. Some of the parents are really poor peasant farmers who live from hand to mouth and so could not afford to pay for the education of their children. We remain committed to making the future bright and beautiful for these children spiritually and academically. The school is offering scholarships to such pupils and students through Deborah Animasawun Memorial Foundation established in 2019; a year after her demise. The school’s name was changed to Deborah Animasawun Memorial Schools comprising both the nursery/primary and the secondary schools.

The two pioneering teachers were Bro. Gbolade Animasawun (now the Director of Missions, Worldhope Ministries) and Mrs. Kehinde Emmanuel. Both of them are highly appreciated.

WORLDHOPE COLLEGE

A bigger challenge emerged which necessitated the need to start a secondary school. We realized that after a thorough job of moulding the character and educational acumen of these children, they got admission to the only public secondary school in the community and got messed up by the various evil vices, which they are not strong enough to resist. Some of these children who have genuinely imbibed a good character and the fear of God while with us end up smoking cigarette, Indian hemp and falling into other lustful/sinful acts. Some of the females became pregnant and committed abortion.

Therefore, the need to start a secondary school to bring up these children in the fear and love of God became more than necessary and urgent. Worldhope College took off in 2009 with 15 students, using the mission school hall as classroom, but today God has provided permanent school site with structures comprising 8 classrooms, staff room, 3 science laboratories (which are 70% equipped) and the school hall.

The number of students continues to increase and the JSSCE results of our first set of students 2012/2013 session was outstanding  as our students scored 100%, while SSCE results of our first set of students 2015/ 2016 sessions was very encouraging as our students scored 90%.   However our challenge is funding, because most parents of our pupils are peasant farmers who are finding it hard to pay the meager school fees of their children.

However, some of the parents are irresponsible and visionless and so it is difficult for us to break even as we have to pay teachers’ salaries, stationaries and run other expenses which could be sometimes high.
