Nestled amidst the lush greenery of southwestern Nigeria lies the humble village of Badeku, a place that has witnessed the extraordinary unfolding of God’s transformative power. It was here, in this unassuming setting, that a remarkable journey of faith and resilience began, fueled by the unwavering dedication of Rev. Idowu Animasawun.

With just N70 (less than $2 at the time), Rev. Animasawun embarked on a mission to bring the light of Christ to Badeku. Undeterred by his limited resources, he transformed a small, 10x10ft room into a vibrant fellowship center, a beacon of hope in a community yearning for spiritual guidance.

In this humble space, devoid of electricity or running water, Rev. Animasawun’s unwavering faith ignited a spark of transformation. God’s presence became palpable, as miraculous signs and wonders began to manifest, drawing people to the center in search of solace and spiritual nourishment.

The impact was undeniable. The Chief of Badeku, witnessing the profound impact of Rev. Animasawun’s ministry, acknowledged God’s divine presence in their midst. With this recognition, a plot of land measuring one acre was graciously offered to the ministry for N3,000, paving the way for the construction of their first church in Badeku.

As the ministry flourished, the gospel spread beyond Badeku’s borders, reaching out to neighboring villages like Bioku, Akamo, Ojoku, Oke-Ogun, Laperi, Oyetola, Lademo, Motaro, Adigun, Gbada, and Aba Eleshu. Initially, converts from these villages journeyed to Badeku to worship, but the treacherous roads posed a significant challenge.

To address this obstacle, the ministry, with the generous support of the late Prof. B.O. Amure, acquired a bus to facilitate transportation for villagers. However, when the bus broke down, the need for local fellowship centers became evident.

Undeterred by this setback, the ministry established fellowship centers in Motaro, Fada, Alaaka, and Lademo, bringing the gospel closer to the people. This expansion proved to be immensely successful, drawing even more individuals to the life-changing message of Christ.

Today, Badeku stands as a testament to the unwavering power of faith and the transformative impact of God’s love. From its humble beginnings in a small, unassuming room, the ministry has blossomed into a beacon of hope, illuminating the lives of countless individuals with the transformative power of the gospel.
